April Newsletter

Greetings from Rosegold Cottage!

I hope each of you is thriving in this glorious spring weather. I have been profoundly appreciating my presence in the heart of Berea, since my work depends so much on heart energy. My heart is indeed full with all the amazing, yet subtle things happening here at Rosegold Cottage.

I am beginning to see my dream of a healing support community become a reality, and a shared dream. A community of support is essential in sustaining any deep level of healing, whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental. And one person (me!) can never replace a community. The teaching circles and workshops I am starting up this month are inviting folks to be present here more often, to benefit from each other’s company and wisdom as well as my own work and presence. One coworker, Maria, has set up a lending library full of helpful books on healing, a phenomenal resource that I invite you all to take advantage of.

A key principle of this community and of my work is that you will find tremendous wisdom within yourself. We all have something to teach each other, no matter what stage we are at in the journey. The new workshop series is a tangible demonstration of this. These are one-hour workshops taught by people who are not necessarily professional healers, but who are sharing tools for the healing journey that have helped them along the way. And in this line of work, personal experience is worth a hundred times more than external accreditation.

This premise is at the heart of valuing the feminine—the way of inner knowing, inner authority, intuition. A core principle of the feminine archetype—which is weaving its way back into our world—is power with one another rather than power over one another. Sound like a good shift to make on this planet?

These principles were dramatically present in the first workshop, held this week. Maria Stenger shared the history, overview, and proper use of runes, an ancient system of wisdom. There have been plenty of times in history where such public teaching resulted in death. So many women seers and healers have been killed, in an attempt to suppress the feminine. This week, not only was the way of inner wisdom being taught, but Maria teaches and embodies the way of the feminine.

As Maria pointed out, true power lies in owning oneself and one’s power completely, NOT in being able to make others do things. It is easy to overlook feminine power, because it bears none of the trappings of masculine power, how we define power in this culture. Ultimately the runes and other tools serve as a mirror to help us know ourselves better, and thus claim our power more fully: stop the leaks. It is a different way of being in relationship with each other . . . and it’s about time!

So, Rosegold Cottage is growing and thriving in the ways it needs to be. It is still struggling to stay afloat financially, however, so if you are invested in seeing this powerful work grow, please consider making an ongoing monthly donation, for whatever amount you are able. (Click here to do so online.)

I hope you will join us for group or healing sessions. Or just be in touch! I remember each of my clients, and often wonder how things have unfolded since I last saw you.

Soothing Touch vs. Sexual Touch

See related post: Why Touch Can Heal, and How Love Factors Into It.

In considering the importance of having more touch in our culture, the question of sexual energy rises. How does one deal with sexual energy that may result from touch among adults or teens?

Sexual touch needs to be acknowledged as a separate kind of touch. Fortunately, we have some choice in how we channel our sexual energy. Sexual energy is a wonderful healing force, so it should be honored, not ignored or subconsciously projected. If sexual energy rises during a friendly back rub, for example, a good step is to pause and verbally acknowledge it (“I’m feeling attraction to you”). Then both people can decide if they want to continue or not. They could decide to shift into a mode of sexual touch.

It is also possible to let sexual energy rise in oneself without channeling it toward the other person. It does not need to be attached to them, even if they were the impetus. Another way of saying this: your sexual energy is your own responsibility, not another person’s. Check their receptivity before sending it their way. It is possible to feel the difference energetically when you are allowing sexual energy to flow through your hands into another person, versus keeping it in check to be able to offer non-sexual touch.

If this is a significant challenge for someone, they might opt to exchange healing touch only with people they are not attracted to until they get a better handle on how to deal honestly and proactively with attraction. Similarly, one should never accept touch from someone who “creeps” them out: this probably just means that person is projecting sexual energy at them without taking responsibility for it or respecting their boundaries. Call them out on it! There’s nothing as effective in stopping subconscious behaviors as yanking them into the spotlight of consciousness. Just naming what is going on will often serve to curb the behavior. If you just silence your discomfort instead, you do the “creep” (male or female!) a great disservice spiritually. Give them a chance to take responsibility for their behavior.

Why Touch Can Heal, and How Love Factors Into It

As my energy healing work has developed, I find that I am less frequently moving energy in a client’s aura. Increasingly, I have shifted into holding deep, safe space for their bodies and spirits. What this allows is the body’s natural healing system (what I often term the “inner healer”) to kick in. I do a fair amount of work inviting the inner healer to get to work. The invitation works because I am holding safe space for the body and spirit.

What I have come to believe from observation is that the body is not particularly interested in healing itself if it does not feel that it will get the love and care it needs to sustain a healing. To get to the root of an issue, then, we must listen to the spirit also and take a look at the energy field to find the underlying blockage that is causing the physical or emotional problem.

At this moment in our culture, most of the work I do is crisis work, trying to get people back to a healthy baseline. Let’s imagine a world in which societal systems support complete health of body, mind, spirit, and psyche—in which our systems could maintain themselves indefinitely just by our built-in healing capacity.

One of the essential tools to maintain health in this ideal society would simply be touch. To explain why, it is necessary to understand our basic needs. Our bodies and spirits are both somewhat like children in their outlook. If they are threatened or neglected, they respond as children would. Our bodies and spirits do not have the “whole picture” of a situation. They need the same kind of care a child needs. They let us know their needs via emotions. Our minds can then choose to heed the emotions and respond, just as we would when a baby cries for out attention.

So, just as touch is essential in comforting a child, so it is essential in comforting adults and teens, because our bodies and spirits don’t exactly “grow up.” I can imagine a civilization in which excellent care is taken of bodies and spirits, and this would result in bodies and spirits functioning far beyond what we now expect of them. But let’s stay in present reality. Many of us have a deep and painful deficit of touch from childhood, when we didn’t get as much comforting, soothing touch as we needed. Those of us in this category need intensive amounts of healing touch (and I mean touch offered in genuine love, which can be different than “professional” touch)—perhaps for several weeks, or even several months. Once we fill up the gaping hole from that deficit, we will then need less for ongoing maintenance.

To understand the significance of touch, we must also understand the relationship between spirit and body in healing. This gets into triage (determining priority of healing). The body’s needs really should be met immediately. If the body is in crisis, everything else should be dropped to take care of the body. When the spirit is in crisis, you’ve got a little more time. You can negotiate with your spirit. For example, if you are in a job that is “killing” your spirit, as long as you HEAR what your spirit is telling you (“Get out of this job!”), you can buy some time. You can take steps toward leaving the job; you can even bargain with your spirit (“Ok, I need to stay in this job for one more year; what can I do to offset its toll on you?”) But then you’ve got to follow through and really make the change your spirit needs.

The spirit feels responsible for the body. It serves to protect the body. If someone is in the midst of chronic medical crisis, their spirit is probably completely exhausted. I’ve had clients with cancer lie on my table, and as soon as I let their spirit know that I will receive responsibility for body-care for the hour, their spirit falls into deep rejuvenating “sleep.” (One contributor to their crisis is the toll exacted on the spirit by the medical system’s lack of love.) So, if the body is in crisis, you can bet the spirit will be as well if the body is not tended.

Inversely, as for the body, it will “bleed out” anywhere the spirit is suffering. You cannot heal the body without healing the spirit. Thus our medical system is not particularly effective in the long-run, to the extent that people often feel worse emotionally and spiritually in leaving the hospital than when they arrived.

Healers have a remarkable opportunity to heal the spirit as well as the body. It is rather stunning that this is so purposely avoided in our medical system. Professional medical “ethics” serve to keep healers removed from their clients: to withhold what their clients’ spirits need as much as medicine or surgery: LOVE. Genuine, unconditional, no-strings-attached love.

What healing touch does for the body is that it makes it feel SAFE. Touch lets the body know that it is receiving care, which helps it relax. When it relaxes, then healing energy at least has the chance to flow. Added to that, what makes the spirit feel safe is freely-offered, unconditional love. So if you put these two together—loving touch—then you’ve got a shot at actual healing. When the body and spirit feel completely safe, the body will begin to heal itself.

Therefore any of us can aid each other’s healing processes tremendously by simply offering touch. Fortunately we don’t have to wait for an ideal society to implement this tool. At any informal social gatherings among friends and family, there can be an exchange of touch happening. Maybe someone needs a back rub. Maybe someone needs to be held or rocked for 10 minutes (yes, including adults). Maybe someone needs to hold hands. Maybe someone needs their hair brushed or stroked. Just sitting with your arm around someone gives significant comfort and a sense of belonging.

What goes around comes around: offering touch can be as wonderful as receiving touch. It really should not be a one-way relationship; attention should be given so that everyone is getting and giving touch over, say, the course of a week or even a long evening. The more we learn to listen to our bodies and spirits, the easier it will get to know what kind of touch we need, and to be able to ask for it specifically. We may also get better at sensing when someone else needs touch even before they ask, and offering.

The Healing Purpose of Sex

Planet Earth has seen a lot of darkness. There is nowhere this darkness is more powerfully concentrated than around sex and sexuality. In a word, the nature of this planetary darkness has been control—control over others. We have even come to define power as having control over others, rather than the more wondrous definition of power as enabling others to live into their full potential (power with).

Sexuality has been at the heart of the control paradigm. It is the chief way women have been kept from coming into their full power, for one. But why has so much darkness focused on sexuality? It is because sex and sexual energy are the most powerful rejuvenating force that we have been given by the Creator. (And I am referring to all intimate touch here.) Contrary to what we have been taught in this culture of the mind (which has despised the body), true pleasure of the body and spirit is a sign that we are on the right track with our behavior. Our bodies and emotions are the perfect radar system for how closely we are aligned with our divine purpose, and the divine Source.

Sex is the most accessible activity available to us that allows a complete union of our own spirits and bodies (metaphorically, sky and earth). Not only does this happen within ourselves–especially in the moment of orgasm–but it gives us the opportunity to experience complete union of spirit and body with another being. This is magical, because when we experience this union, we are reminded that we are actually one with all life. We touch the divine Source, of which we are part. We have largely forgotten this truth on Earth. The greatest lie perpetuated on this planet is that we are separate—from each other, from the Earth, and from God. In truth we are all part of one great whole. We are the body of God, and God’s spirit moves within us as well as without.

Sex has the potential to shatter this lie of separation. Somehow we have gotten almost entirely immersed in the belief that sex is bad, dangerous, to be contained at all costs, and to be minimized. Marriage has been one way to try to contain it; social censure another. We are scared of sex, which is to say we are scared of our own power and divinity. If we claim our sexuality fully, we claim our power, in that we allow divine energy to flow in and out of us freely. (And that is true power.)

From the perspective of energy healing, I believe that the Creator gave sex to us as a primary means of keeping us healthy, and our energy flowing optimally. A good metaphor is how we recharge our cell phones regularly. This is the true function of sexual energy: to recharge our entire energetic system. If we were able to freely give and receive sexual energy, and did so regularly, I believe that our bodies would not age in the way they currently do. Our bodies have a built-in healing system, and if we “funded” it with enough energy, our bodies would be much more capable of routine self-mending than they currently are. Of course, we need other societal systems to back up and support the healthy flow of energy in our systems, but sex is the key to recharging—to bringing the new energy we need into our systems.

The reason sex is fraught with so many emotional and social perils is because darkness concentrates in our pelvic region, and sex can be a means of passing “dark” energy from one person to another (including STDs). So part of restoring sex to its proper role in society must include healing work in the body to remove all the energy that blocks and perverts the flow of sexual energy—which is what subverts sexual energy into repression or compulsion.

Some of us, including myself, have slightly misunderstood the chakra centers, related to this issue. Chakras are actually for communication and exchange of energy with others, a horizontal movement of energy. They are like flowers, opening and closing according to what is needed. Chakras are also nodes that make it easier to heal in specific areas (bringing healing energy in). They are not, however, set up for basic/daily energy maintenance and refueling, which is a vertical movement/rise through the body. Sex is not the only way to recharge, but it is the most accessible.

In a healthy culture, how does sex function? Sex needs to be completely delinked from all trace of possessiveness (as should relationships in general). Sex should always be an act of giving, chosen by the giver, and given freely and openly. Sex should never be an act of taking, or attempting to control or bind someone else, body or spirit.

Sex should always be founded upon the knowledge that we are all interconnected. Energy is always flowing between us; we are not in fact separate from each other. Therefore what meets the needs of one person ultimately serves the good of all.

What this means is that sex needs to be freed up from almost every thought our culture has about it:

(1) There is no such thing as casual sex. All sex is sacred since through it, spirit touches spirit, and both open to the divine Spirit/Source.

(2) Sex should not be taken as personally as we do. It should be understood more properly as basic maintenance of body and spirit.

(3) Celibacy is something to be undertaken with great awareness and should probably be time-limited. Historically it has functioned as a denial of the sacredness of the body, and a refusal to participate in the great interconnected web of energy that unites all of us.  Celibacy has often risen from the tragically mistaken belief that the mind and spirit are the only path to God, and that the body is merely an impediment. In truth, our bodies are sacred, in that they are imbued with spirit (as is all matter).

(4) Sex is too important and too sacred to be constrained by social institutions such as marriage. There is a place for committed relationship and marriage, but those needs should be considered somewhat separately from sex. Sex is more sacred and more essential than social contracts, which will shift throughout life.

(5) Sex needs to be delinked from the terror of unwanted pregnancy. We need to make birth control more available, and make adoption a much easier and more expected outcome of unwanted pregnancy. We need to pay far better attention to making sure the needs of all children and all primary caretakers are met.

(6) We need to support our teenagers’ desire and curiosity about sex. As it is, we disapprove and look the other way, when in fact, teens need training and loving support in learning how to handle sexuality.

I do not have all the answers to shifting society from an unhealthy to a healthy relationship with sexuality. But getting the foundation in place is a good first step. Other solutions, strategies, and intermediate steps will rise as we travel the ever-unfolding path of cultural evolution.

February Newsletter

Greetings from Rosegold Cottage! February has brought me some interesting work and new opportunities. The Medicine Wheel and Inner Work teaching circles have provided a beautiful format for supportive community and learning. These will continue through the end of the year.

I would like to share four highlights from work I’ve done this month. I know that many of you are familiar with personal intuitive healing sessions with me, but perhaps not aware of the other areas of my work.

(1) House clearing and blessing: At a client’s request, I went through each room and the yard at their residence, finding and clearing any residual energies that did not belong there or were causing harm. I left the house with blessings and new intentions set for various rooms. At this house I also had the chance to do healing work and communication with three cats, which was delightful!

(2) Regular space clearing for a business: I have another arrangement with a client who owns a restaurant to come on a monthly basis to make sure the energy in the space stays in good order. It has been exciting watching the building get to the point of holding higher and higher energy, which also sets the foundation for the business itself to serve a higher purpose and carry out its mission more strongly. If you own a business that sees a lot of people come and go, this is an excellent thing to do.

(3) Healing sexual abuse trauma. I have recently been offering healing of sexual abuse traumas with a technique I learned in working through a past sexual abuse trauma in my own life. It is proving very powerful, if the client is at a point they are ready to confront and release that block of energy. Recent sexual abuse (or other) trauma is simpler to heal, although the emotional process takes whatever time it needs.

(4) Exorcism: I sense that the planet is shaking off a lot of the dark energies that have influenced it, in this time. I am running into and eliminating dark beings that hold collective influence over many of us, at least one a week, in healing sessions. To the degree that we have not brought all parts of ourselves into consciousness, we are vulnerable to influence from dark energies and the exertion of others’ wills over our actions. As soon as we are ready to claim our space more fully, these other energies lose their grip on us. It is nothing to fear, just a natural part of the healing process.

I urge you to let me know if I can be of help to you in any of these areas, or simply with offering healing support on your ongoing journey—for body, spirit, mind, or all three. Please recall that I am available 24 hrs. a day at Rosegold Cottage for crisis care. If you would like to make a donation to help keep this free service alive, click here.

I send blessings out to each of you. May spring rise inside of you even as it gently returns to the Earth.

Becoming a Powerful Healer

It became clear to me a few months ago that to teach what I do (or aspects of it), the best thing I can do is teach how to heal yourself deeply, and come into ever-clearer self-knowledge. When you follow this path, you discover your purpose, you learn to follow the direction of your inner guide, and you learn how to listen for Spirit’s direction at all times in all matters, including how to conduct healing.

Another way of putting this:

  1. Clear yourself out (of all the crud that accumulates in our systems in this culture) and your overall vibrational level will rise. You will be able to channel higher frequencies of energy, which is automatically healing. This is why it is innately healing to be in the presence of someone who’s energy system is in a higher, clearer state: they raise the vibration in the whole room.
  2. As your energetic space gets clearer and clearer (as you heal), your perception will expand. This is another automatic side-effect of raising your overall vibration. You will be able to see into other “dimensions” (= real stuff that we don’t typically notice because it lies outside our current limited perceptual field).
  3. You will access levels of perception and clarity in which Spirit/God/Source will speak directly to you. And yes, God knows exactly what needs to be healed in any situation, and the best way to carry it out.

The typical path for becoming a holistic practitioner has been getting certified in a particular system. While this kind of training can be very useful and provide excellent tools, your power as a healer comes from the depth of your own personal integration and healing. Spirit has been very clear with me over the years that – aside from my initial training with Colin Chipps – all of my knowledge was to come through experience.

This is a sea change in thinking about qualification and authority. It is a shift toward the feminine modality, that honors the path of lived experience and wisdom more than someone else’s stamp of approval. It honors inner knowing as much as outer knowing.

Spirit is your own best teacher, and your own spirit is your surest guide toward using your gifts fully. You can gain tools and techniques from others, but ultimately your deepest healing work will come from who you have become, rather than what you do or how you do it.

Sexuality and the Awakening of Will

The first time I energetically healed wounds from sexual abuse, I saw a key made of white light. I required the perpetrator to return it to the victim (in spirit). The victim was enthralled with the key, as a great treasure. Once she had it back, she had no further interest in the perpetrator.

What was this white light key? At first I thought it was the person’s spirit, but it is much more subtle than that. I am going to white light court to ask. Here is what I learned:

  • The key is “key” to the white light body of radiance that may surround each of us. Radiance rises from the complete union of spirit with body. It comes when one’s spirit fully inhabits one’s body—when they are fully connected and in communication.
  • In this state of spirit-body union, we are closest to consciousness of our oneness with the divine: the inner light, the spark of life. On earth it is the union of spirit and body that is consciousness/life. The union connects us to the great whole (the Great Spirit).
  • These all connect through the third chakra in humans. The spirit-body connection allows the connection with the Great Spirit, the cosmos.
  • If the spirit-body connection is weak or damaged, it interferes with the ability to connect with God and the great ALL.
  • The white light radiance is the light of the divine shining through us: it is more than the individual self, spirit or body, greater than the individual spirit.
  • The key is sexual awakening. (How did Philip Pullman get so close to the truth?!)

A baby is born out of the divine light. The years of childhood are for learning whatever the society/culture/planet has learned and must pass on for culture to continue—taking in instruction. At puberty (ideally), however, individual consciousness is born. The person becomes able to choose her life, make her own judgments, participate in evolution in her own unique way. She claims her will. She becomes an essential and vital part of the unfolding of the universe. The key that opens this new world of possibility is sexual awakening. Because it is the only human experience in which spirit and body are equally, fully present and completely at one (again, ideally). And because they are completely one then, we touch the divine: the connection opens wide. And we (can) know who we really are: one with all, a carrier of the divine spark. It is inside/part of each of us, not outside (hello Quakers!).

  • This knowledge is the foundation of wonder and delight. Living out of the radiance, consciously–what a state!
  • The awakening to consciousness at puberty is also the awakening of will and individuality.
  • Consciousness is knowing who you are.
  • Will is deciding if you will serve your true, unique purpose in this lifetime. If you accept, then your will becomes activated. If you refuse or resist, then you will be ruled by others’ wills.
  • Awaken then Serve. This is the path to radiance.

Awakening is an internal experience, innately so. It cannot be other. When someone is raped as their first sexual experience (maybe half the population), the awakening is confused. The victim believes the awakening hinges on an external cause. So the longing for the phenomenal awakening gets equated with another’s will, which are directly incompatible things (since awakening births one’s own will). Thus, rape often splits the victim. Rape obstructs awakening into oneself as well as development of one’s will, and the inner radiance that blooms when these arise as they are meant to. It produces an internal split instead of internal union.

The key belongs to oneself. It never belongs to the rapist—that’s a lie, and easy to bust energetically. This awakening is like the dawning of a great light/radiance. It attracts predators because it is so wondrous. Predators had their awakening similarly interrupted, and never could claim it or develop their own radiance, so they seek to steal the will and radiance of others, as theirs was stolen. This cycle is not hard to end, from a healer’s perspective, via simple applied spirit-body energy work.

Side-effects of the radiance generated by spirit-body union include inner aliveness, delight, the joy of the spirit, pleasure. The spirit longs for body pleasure (and disembodied spirits miss this). Our true nature and purpose is to fully inhabit and love our bodies and the material world. Without spirit-body integration, we cannot access the divine truly, accurately. It’s just the way reality is set up.

December Newsletter

It has been a remarkable two months since moving into Rosegold Cottage. This has been a wonderful, quiet, and powerful location from which to offer my work. The house itself is already holding strong healing energy. My intuitive practice has transferred nicely here.

I have had seven people so far come for the crisis healing services of Rosegold Cottage. Several of these are people on an accelerated path to wholeness (out of choice and perseverance) who come regularly, and I have served as midwife for some phenomenal healing work. I observe that the level of healing depends both on a client’s readiness to heal as well as the degree of trust they hold in me. So I encourage you to come often and get to know me!

I have held several teaching and support groups at Rosegold Cottage. I will be making my writing available as another aid. I have also begun to work with a Native American medicine man to incorporate healing ceremony into this work.

I am enjoying my work tremendously. My own healing journey has accelerated remarkably in the last several months. I am understanding my purpose and claiming my power in ways I never could have imagined even a few months ago. I am grateful beyond measure for the opportunity to do the healing work I love, and to have the flexibility of schedule to continue seeking better ways to do so.

Please do consider offering financial support for the free and vital services I am providing to the community through Rosegold Cottage. It will be one of the best investments you ever make. Since I am not keen on frequent appeals for money, my preferred donation mode is committing to an automatic monthly donation on my website. Even $20/month is a significant support.

I leave you with a challenge for the new year:

Believe it or not, our dear planet is shaking off a lot of long-entrenched darkness these days. Deep and widespread change is happening, starting “below the surface.” These days, I am pulling an unprecedented number of dark energies out of clients’ space as well as out of places I work on.

The inner work we each do, day after day—toward greater self-awareness and integration of our shadow sides—has a profound impact on external reality, because of our interconnectedness. I encourage you to take this seriously in the coming year. Inner work (the journey to wholeness) is not hard to begin, but it does take courage. Emotions are your chief and most reliable guide. Consider making a commitment in this new year to listening to every emotion that rises in you. If it is negative, sit with it long enough to hear what your spirit is telling you. Is there an action you need to take? A relationship that needs to change? Words you need to say to someone? If the emotion is positive, do anything in your power to repeat whatever caused that joy as often as you can.

Our call is not to figure out how to “fix the world.” It is rather to come into enough self-knowledge so that we can live out our true purpose. Living out of true purpose and inner harmony places us squarely in the flow of universal harmony (“God’s will”) and all our actions will pack a far greater punch.

I send much love to you all. May you be showered with blessings and joy as we enter this new year!

A Workshop with Steve Schumacher

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend a workshop Steve Shumacher, of Louisville, KY, offered here in Berea. Steve is a healer and teacher, and was presenting on the Visionary Craniosacral method.  Steve’s words, presence, and knowledge were profoundly helpful. The room was full of 20-30 healers from Berea, Richmond, and Lexington, as well, which was wonderful.

Here are my notes from the workshop. My questions and thoughts are in italics. Everything else is from Steve.

  • Even though a traumatic event is physically over, its force may still be at work in the body/energy system. The way Steve talks about force and interior fulcrums is the way I talk about “blocked energy.”
  • One of my rising recent questions: If the root of a physical problem is healed, how much can the body physically regenerate?
  • Steve offered a typical story in which someone takes a hard fall, then gets up, grits their teeth and goes on. Years later, that weakness/fulcrum/blocked energy makes their back go out. I believe that if we learned to pay close attention to our bodies and spirits in every moment, in a situation like this, they would tell us exactly what to do to heal (i.e. move a certain way, rest a certain amount of time, etc.). Healers are great for this, but ultimately, each person’s body adn spirit know exactly how to heal. in my healing work, I am accessing that innate knowledge. It comes back to awakening “intuition” or the “inner guide,” as Quakers say.
  • Steve asked his teacher Hugh Milne about how to deal with “professional patients.” His teacher responded, “Joy,” and explained that if the healer’s heart is full of joy (open) there are no dark places for the patient to lock into, mirroring the patient’s own dark places. The patient will either heal or go away. The warning flag  is feeling judgmental. (I run into this in myself) He speaks of not having the “purity” to heal as Christ did, to see what is healthy and right in a system rather than what is wrong.
  • In his work, a really healthy patient’s field feels like “air,” as if the body “disappears.”
  • When space expands, time slows down. When space compresses, time speeds up. Problems are from a lack of space.
  • The cranial wave, fluid tide, and long tide may be found in all life forms (and the physical rhythms of the earth). This makes perfect sense, because the earth is alive, and is one organism. I think this is true literally/scientifically, not metaphorically. We are like parts of her body. So these tides are her body’s “fluid” cycles: her emotion(?), her circulation, her breathing.
  • The soul dwells in the fascia (!!)
  • Maybe: Two people are required for the deepest work, one as witness and/or facilitator
  • Steve is offering the patient a presence of “receptivity” and “curiosity.” Steve speaks of a conscious mind, a presence “in the room” with the healer and patient that provides external healing, and a blueprint of healthy function. It will help, if a receptive space is held. I am so curious as to what this actually is energetically.  I think it is not just a spirit being–too limited. Nor “God”/cosmic order. It is a healing consciousness. Maybe it is the Earth’s “Inner Healer.” The divine spark and rightness at the heart of the Earth that is available to all her body parts.

The gem of wisdom that really lit me up, and is no doubt WHY I was there is related to the notion of a healer listening for what is right and healthy in a person’s system, and that if one could do that, the whole system might instantaneously heal. Because that “spark” in a person holds the blueprint (like a holograph?) for the whole system’s perfect, birthright function.

This is seeing/touching the divine spark in a person. I believe that the root of all suffering on earth is that we have forgotten who we really are: we are part of the great organism/life system that is the Earth, and it is all sacred, because it is all imbued with spirit. We each are a unique spark of the divine. Our uniqueness is important, and so is our interconnectedness. So it makes great sense to me that if a healer gets in touch with that place of divinity/wholeness in a person, and serves as witness (holding space, holding up a mirror), he/she is simply helping the person remember who they really are. All the false notions and beliefs can fall away. After all, isn’t original “sin” perhaps the belief that we are separate from God, and thus alone.

This is the awakening happening on the planet right now. It is the remembrance of who we are: consciousness. The return of the feminine metaphorically. But really what the feminine symbolizes is spirit, the inner way, yin.

Thank you Steve and the other healers present at this profound afternoon!

I read Starhawk’s The Fifth Sacred Thing a while back. One of the key ideas that stuck with me from the novel was healing by destroying the “energy signature” of the organism. She shapes it up as doing combat with the bug, which is not exactly how I see it.

I offer healing to any entity or being that presents itself to me for healing. This includes the most “evil” of spirits and the most deadly of viruses. If a person is sick with a “bug”–either virus, bacteria, or parasite–I remove the energy from their space, just as I remove a person’s energy who is intruding into a client’s space. I believe that this has a similar effect to taking an antibiotic, only without the damaging side-effects of our medicinal antibiotics. Once the live energy is removed, the body is left with a clean-up job, but no longer has to fight off an intruder.

The principle underlying this is that our systems are fundamentally comprised of energy. Our bodies are formed around a pre-existing energy template. That is why one must address the energetic cause to get at the root of physical illness. So, to get rid of a “bug,” its live energy must first be removed, then its “dead” cellular structure can be swept out by our body’s healing system.

(These are such primitive words to put on this incredible reality, but it’s the best I/we can do for now!)

Science has already provided us with an understanding that “everything is energy,” so it is hardly a stretch to see that this will revolutionize our medical practices. This kind of solves the problem of our antibiotics going defunct, eh? Energy healing is beautifully non-invasive and very very precise in its focus. Many healers are offering intuitive diagnosis, which has the potential to be about a million times more accurate and fast than our current primitive diagnostic tools.
